You're not gonna vote for Corzine, are you?
Yeah, me neither.
Having trouble justifying voting for Christie?
Me too.
How about that Daggett fellow?
Nah, can't do it.
Are you even going to vote?
Yeah, I can't decide either.
How did it come to this? Why do our choices all suck? There are so many people who are just going to stay home because they don't see themselves making the effort for any of these guys. The rest of the people are just voting for the guy who isn't the other guy. This is not what America is supposed to offer. We don't have a single solid choice for governor in the state of New Jersey.
Not a single one.
I thought about staying home myself, but then I thought, I'm just going to vote for myself. Why not, right? It's better than not voting. It shows them that I don't accept the lame duck candidates they gave us to vote on. People might vote for me if they feel the same way I do. Right?
Of course they will. And if you are having the same issues with election day coming up in a week and a half... if you're thinking about just staying home... if you're voting against a candidate instead of for a candidate... why not vote for Mike Leone?
I can assure you that I would change the way things are done (and I'm not talking Obama change, I'm talking real change). I can assure that your voice would be heard and considered if you present a logical argument. I can assure that I would run a corruption-free state government.
There is no time to debate serious issues in depth with Tuesday, November 3 just around the corner. If I need to seriously dissuade you from voting for Corzine, Christie, or Daggett then do your thing. I'm looking for support from my fellow citizens who don't want to vote for any of them.
This is a cause... A movement even.
A movement to show that we won't continue to vote for assholes we can't stand to vote for. We want real candidates. We want more options outside of the 2 parties and that oh-so controversial independent candidate.
This is our statement.
Let it be seen the next day on the polls that 1% of the voters wrote-in a guy who wasn't on the ballot. You need kindling to start the fire.
